How does Celebrity Cruises prioritize sustainability and responsible tourism?
KA: Our guests want to ensure the footprint we make enriches the destination and that we leave it better than when we arrived. For example, when we designed Celebrity Flora, both luxury and sustainability were at the forefront of her entire design. She was purposely built for the Galápagos.
Flora is the first and only ship of its size to have solar panels to supplement electricity supplies and uses reverse osmosis so the ship is able to process seawater into fresh water to supply 100% of its needs. Celebrity Flora is eco-luxurious because it fits into the adventure, sustainability and bucket list travel categories. She boasts all suites with infinite verandas, full room automation, personal butlers, menus crafted by our Michelin-starred chef and daily adventures with Galápagos National Park Naturalists.
What are some standout destinations and itineraries?
KA: The Galápagos would be my top pick! Also, I can’t wait to visit the Caribbean’s most exclusive escape, Perfect Day at CocoCay. The shorter itineraries are great for my busy schedule, and I am 100% going to book the adults-only Hideaway Beach℠ at CocoCay. Second, I have my personal sights set on sailing Celebrity Apex next year to Iceland for the northern lights.
How does Celebrity Cruises cater to a diverse range of travelers?
KA: The experiences on board are as diverse as the destinations we visit. We have an outdoor jogging track, an immense fitness center with classes like F45, spinning and yoga, and pickleball courts and basketball courts for sports enthusiasts. For arts and culture lovers, we’re a floating museum with more than 1,000 exclusively curated art pieces on our Edge Series ships, and we feature live music, award-winning productions, comedy shows and more on every sailing.
Wellness lovers will enjoy the spa, as well as AquaClass staterooms that offer exclusive access to our onboard Thermal Suite and clean cuisine at our specialty restaurant, Blu. KA: Our Michelin-starred culinary director draws inspiration from the ports we visit in collaboration with our Global Culinary Brand Ambassador, Daniel Boulud. I encourage everyone to visit Le Voyage, Daniel’s first restaurant at sea, on Celebrity Beyond. He has truly helped us change the conversation around dining at sea. He will open Le Voyage as well on Celebrity Ascent, which will debut this fall. Daniel also has a handful of dishes that are exclusively available to suite guests in Luminae.
