Autumn: March – May

Enjoy cooler temperatures and stunning orange, red, and yellow foliage in Victoria‘s High Country, the Grampians and in Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. March and April can be wet and stormy in the tropical north. Many of the biggest festivals take place in Australia’s major cities in autumn. Baby turtles hatch in the Southern Great Barrier Reef and head for the open sea. For a fun & sun feel, visit the Gold Coast, Byron Bay or the Sunshine Coast.

May is the beginning of the dry season (May-October). Visiting at the end of wet season/beginning of dry season, everything will be lush and in bloom. Dry season features lower temperatures, sunny days, and a stinger-free Great Barrier Reef.
