Here’s to Looking Forward

I hope you’ve all been staying warm!

It’s always a bittersweet feeling when another year comes to a close and a new one begins. We often feel compelled to look back on the year behind us and try to evaluate it, asking ourselves if it was a “good” year or what we can stand to learn from it. We often start doing this before the calendar year is even over, giving us little time to actually process a window of time that’s only just begun to close.

But to be honest with you, my beautiful Nexion community, I’m a bit over all this nostalgia. I’d rather look ahead at what we can look forward to than spend too much time in the past. Today, I find myself feeling both grateful and genuinely excited. Not in a grand, fireworks kind of way, but in the quieter confidence that comes from knowing we’re building something strong together.

What energizes me most right now, though, is what lies ahead. A new year offers space for fresh ideas, renewed momentum, and possibilities we haven’t fully imagined yet. We already have exciting milestones on the horizon—specialty events that will bring advisors together around shared passions and expertise, and of course, CoNexion 2026 in Austin, which promises to be another powerful moment of learning, connection, and inspiration. These gatherings matter because they remind us that we don’t grow in isolation; we grow by sharing insights, challenging each other, and celebrating our collective wins.

But some of the most meaningful developments in the coming year may not even be on our radar yet. New tools, new partnerships, new ways of working, and new opportunities to serve travelers better than ever before will emerge—often in unexpected ways. That’s one of the things I love most about this industry: it’s constantly evolving, and there’s always room for innovation alongside experience.

Change is the only thing that stays the same, and I’ve learned that you can never really predict what’s coming next. All you can do is prepare and have contingency plans based on what seems reasonable to expect, which is exactly what Nexion seeks to provide through our business development and education programs.

This past year asked a lot of us. It required adaptability, focus, and no small amount of patience. And yet, it also delivered growth, learning, and countless moments that reminded us why travel—and the professionals who make it happen—matters so deeply. For that, I’m thankful. I’m thankful for our advisors who continue to show up with creativity and care, for our partners who collaborate with intention, and for a community that understands progress doesn’t always come in straight lines.

As we step into the new year, my hope is that we do so with curiosity and confidence. Not rushing past what we’ve learned, but carrying it forward. Not waiting for “perfect” conditions, but trusting in our ability to adapt and thrive.

So let’s raise our glasses to what’s ahead—to momentum, to meaningful connections, and to the ideas we haven’t dreamed up yet. The future feels open, and I can’t wait to see where we go next—together.
